Garmin Nuvi 1690 GPS
This is the latest Nuvi which comes with a 4.3” wide color touch screen. It gives you real time information about fuel prices to Google search with its new service called the Garmin NuLink Service. With this service you get accurate real time information to your Nuvi wirelessly. In the US it comes with a free 2 year subscription for NuLink service and will cost you $5 each month after that. With this new service you get Google Local Search to find POI’s and traffic services, construction work if any and traffic services which send you alerts for delays. Other services that come with this Nuvi are fuel prices, Ciao Friend finder, weather forecast, movie times, flight status, local events, currency converter, white pages and many more.
It even guides you to take the correct lane for your approaching turn or exit. It displays road signs and junctions on your route as well. After entering the detail of your destination Nuvi 1690 will guide you with voice directions to your destination. It comes with City Navigator which gives you access to nearly 6 million POI’s, gives you directions through 2D and 3D maps and speed limits for major roads. The digital elevation maps shows you shaded contours at higher zoom levels and gives you a bigger picture of the surrounding terrain. It also has the Hot Fix feature which locates your position and gets you to your destination quickly. It comes with an integrated Bluetooth wireless technology and built-in microphone and speaker. It comes with Eco Route which fids the best and efficient route for you.
Nuvi 1690 lets you save 10 routes with the route planning feature and gives you advanced navigation experience. Along with all these advanced features it has tools such as JPEG photo viewer, world clock, currency converter, calculator etc. It also has an optional plug-in microSD cards feature.
